I tried opening up a new song and putting down a single track of mono audio, but still get the distorted playback. My dropout protection is set to Medium but changing it to any setting other than that doesn't make a difference. The performance monitor in Studio One shows even lower usage (1-3%) with disc at 0%. Looking at Task Manager in Windows, my CPU only fluctuates between 15-20% usage with 14 channels playing back simultaneously. I have noticed that the garbled audio usually occurs after "bounce event to a new track", or switching between open songs. Apparently, this resets whatever was causing the garbling of the audio. This ALWAYS fixes the sound issue, and it only take a few seconds. I now just open "Audio Setup", and change "Device Block Size", to anything. This (garbled playback sound) happens fairly frequently. (Please ignore my advice above, which was made when I was very new to S1 and smacking hard against the learning curve. However, if I completely close and reopen Studio One, the distortion occurs again. If I were to close and reopen the song at this point the sound is still ok. Distorted sound is gone at this pointĤ) turn off airplane mode, to enable wifi again (once the song is already sounding ok, this doesn't cause the distortion again, until I restart Studio One) For others having this (seemingly random) distortion issue in Win10, I had to follow these steps:ģ) restart Studio One and the song.
